[vc_row][vc_column][vc_toggle title=”1. How much do I have to earn to qualify for a PRB flat?”]<\/p>\n

Applicants have to earn a gross annual income between $3952 to $20,000<\/u> or $76 to $384<\/u> weekly to qualify for a PRB flat.  Only the Suva Raiwai, Nairai Road estate of 210 flats<\/u> have a different income bracket. Applicants interested in the Raiwai flats have to earn an annual gross income of $20,001 to $30,000<\/u> or $385 to $576<\/u> weekly.  The rents are made affordable, but applicants have to demonstrate the ability to pay the weekly charged rent.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”2. How long do I have to wait after I submit my applications?”]<\/p>\n

PRB cannot provide the exact date it will allocate you a flat since it has to wait for an existing tenant to vacate before a flat becomes available for you. The outgoing tenant normally provides a short notice of its intention to vacate. After PRB receive keys, the next deserving tenant on its waitlist will be decided and allocated on a first come-first serve basis.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”3. How much refundable bond do I have to pay if my application is approved.”]<\/p>\n

The standard bond for rental housing is $270. Since PRB is a special housing program, you will also be required to pay a month advance rent as a buffer in your flat account for unforeseen circumstances.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”4. How many family members do you allow for each flat?”]<\/p>\n

The number of family members for each flat are maximum 4 persons for studio flats and 6 persons for 1- and 2-bedroom flats. PRB does not want families to allow their flats to be overcrowded. Most flats are separated by a firewall, and we don\u2019t want overcrowded flats to disturb the peace and privacy of neighbours.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”5. Is it compulsory to deduct flat rent directly from my wages or can I pay my rent in cash?”]<\/p>\n

All applicants are encouraged to arrange with their employer to deduct your rent from your wages and remit to PRB. PRB also prioritise allocation to applicants that their employers can assist them with deductions.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”6. Do we sign an agreement after we are allocated a flat?”]<\/p>\n

All successful applicants will sign a Tenancy Agreement before they are issued with the flat keys. The Tenancy Agreement outlines expected behaviours from PRB tenants and ensures peaceful and harmonious living as well as safeguarding the interests of PRB.  A template of the Tenancy Agreement are available at our website.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”7. Are we allowed to have pets at PRB flats?”]<\/p>\n

No, you are not allowed to have cats, dogs or any other pets at PRB flats. Most estates are not fenced, and you can encounter stray animals which we advise that you do not feed or entertain them.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”8. Are we allowed to have gardens at PRB flats?”]<\/p>\n

If spaces are available, yes you are allowed to plant vegetables. We do not allow food plants above knee-height level such as cassava, banana trees, etc. You can contact your PRB representative if you are unsure whether an available land space can be used for planting.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”9. Are we allowed to have visitors?”]<\/p>\n

Yes, but PRB must be informed in advance through your respective estate committees, as they need to keep a roll of names of any persons, staying at the estate.<\/p>\n

No, consuming alcohol are not permitted in any PRB flats.<\/p>\n

PRB policy allows tenants to stay up to a maximum of 6 years.<\/p>\n
