Master Plan – Future Developments

Public Rental Board is currently liaising with iTLTB to acquire a piece of land at Waitovu, Levuka for its green field development with an area of 20 acres (3 acres for rental – 144 flats, 10acres (41 residential lots), 3 acres (commercial, civic and community hall) and 4 acres (Roads, footpaths, drainage and reticulation system).

This project includes the following:

  • Subdivision of Lots – Residential, Civic, commercial and recreational lots.
  • Construction of Standard 2- and 3-bedroom houses.

A draft scheme plan has been done with conceptual designs.

Discussions of acquiring the land is still in progress.

This project includes the following: Subdivision of Lots – Residential, Civic, commercial and recreational lots. Construction of Standard 2- and 3-bedroom houses. A draft scheme plan has been done with conceptual designs. PRB is in talks with ITLTB to acquire the land first.
  • The Public Rental Board is currently in talks with Housing Authority to acquire the said land for its development. The proposed development includes 76 rental units with 40 (1-bedroom units and 36 x 2-bedroom units.) The development also includes: Car-parking spaces. Playground and children’s play area. A Community Hall (double storey) Underground rainwater harvesting. Solar panels for external and staircase lighting. Discussions is currently in its preliminary stages.
  • The In-house team is currently working on developing new concepts for the redevelopment of Raiwaqa Ex-4 storey. The development includes a mixed development (rental units and commercial area). A total of 152 rental units is planned to be constructed at the site, a commercial center, recreational area, car-park and taxi base. Discussions is currently in its preliminary stages.
  • Engineered plans have been prepared and submitted for approval by the relevant authorities in 2015. It is anticipated that civil works for this project would cost approximately $2.2 million. The Ministry with Ministry of Economy and the Public Rental Board has had series of consultations with International Finance Corporation on the scoping for Public Private Partnership for this Project. Discussions still on going.
